SAN Performance Study

We will conduct a review of the current storage area network (SAN) and make recommendations on areas where current performance can be improved. The report will cover the existing environment including backend storage subsystems, storage virtualisation and SAN fabric switches.

The SAN performance study is an in depth performance review of the storage infrastructure and identifies current performance on key metrics, for example:

• Performance utilisation
• IOPS
• Throughput, MB/s
• Response time

• Baseline existing performance utilisation
• Identify performance bottlenecks and hot spots
• Provide information for performance and capacity trending
• Reclaim under-utilised or orphaned resources
• Provide information for load balancing of resources
