Overview
The investment in the storage infrastructure has to translate into measurable, tangible benefits to the business. Similarly, the business should be able to attribute costs to different service levels.Consolidation and Abstraction provide the means to rapidly respond to changes in business needs and the ability to deliver storage resources at variable cost, depending on the level of service required. These levels of service are usually described as tiers, for example, 1 - 4 or Platinum - Bronze. Each tier has a different set of service characteristics and cost.
