TSM Licence Audit

With a rapidly changing IT environment it is very difficult to be sure that you are correctly licensed for the software used.

This challenge is compounded when the software in question has the potential to be installed on essentially every server in the environment. Those servers (virtual or physical) are commissioned or removed to match business requirements and consequently the TSM license requirement changes. Coupled with this is the complexity of the licensing from IBM and the correlation to the number of cores per server.

Tectrade have developed a collection of Visual Basic scripts and a process to audit an environment to determine the number and type of CPUs (and cores) that exist. in the environment. Linux or Unix servers will be manually correlated and investigated to determine the number and type of processors, server status and online agent utilisation.
